AgeMe Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
AgeMe ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and what choices you have when you use the AgeMe mobile application (the "App").
The App does not require account registration or login. We follow a "minimum necessary collection" principle and only process personal information needed to provide the features you choose to use.
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Photos and Face-Related Data
We do not collect Face ID, TrueDepth camera data, ARKit face mesh, facial geometry templates, biometric identifiers, or faceprints for identity verification.
When you use certain AI features, you may choose a photo from your device's Photo Library. That photo may contain a human face (yours or another person's). We collect only the photo you actively select for that specific feature.
Aging: The photo may contain a face. It is sent to Tencent Cloud only after you give in-app consent.
Cartoon Me: The photo may contain a face. It is sent to Tencent Cloud only after you give in-app consent.
Hair Recolor (Shade): The photo may contain a face. It is sent to Tencent Cloud for portrait/hair segmentation only after you give in-app consent.
Filters: Processed entirely on your device. No photo is uploaded.
History: Original and result images may be saved locally on your device. They may contain faces. History is not uploaded to our servers.
We do not extract, store, or use reusable face templates, faceprints, or biometric data for identification purposes on our servers.
2.2 Device and Usage Information
To operate the App, deliver ads, prevent abuse, and improve stability, we may collect:
- A randomly generated device identifier stored in your device Keychain
- Device model, operating system version, and screen resolution
- App version, session ID, and network type
- Feature usage events (for example, feature type used and request success or failure)
- IP address (for region and service configuration)
- App install time and launch type (cold or warm start)
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other contact details unless you voluntarily contact us.
2.3 Advertising and Analytics Data
The App uses third-party advertising and analytics services. With your permission where required by your device settings (such as App Tracking Transparency on iOS), we or our partners may collect:
- Advertising identifier (IDFA), if you grant tracking permission
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, ad value)
- Device and app information needed to serve and measure ads
Our analytics backend receives device and usage data described in Section 2.2. It does not receive your uploaded photos.
2.4 Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase a subscription or in-app product, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive subscription status and transaction-related information from Apple to unlock premium features. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information in the following ways:
- When you choose a photo: You select an image from your Photo Library through the system photo picker.
- When you confirm AI processing: Before any photo is sent off your device for AI features (Aging, Cartoon Me, Hair Recolor), the App shows an in-app permission alert. Processing occurs off-device only if you tap Allow.
- Automatically: Device and usage data may be collected when you launch or use the App.
- Through third-party SDKs: Advertising partners (such as Google and Meta) may collect data according to their own policies and your device privacy settings.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information solely for the following purposes:
- Selected photos: To provide the AI editing effect you requested.
- Processed results: To display results in the App and save them to local History.
- Device and usage data: To operate the App, maintain service stability, and enforce usage limits.
- Advertising data: To display and measure ads.
- Subscription data: To verify and manage your premium access.
We do not use your photos or face-related data for advertising, marketing profiling, sale or rental to third parties, or training our own AI models, unless we obtain your separate written consent in the future.
5. Third-Party AI Processing (Tencent Cloud)
When you use Aging, Cartoon Me, or Hair Recolor, and you tap Allow on the in-app permission alert, your selected photo is transmitted over HTTPS to Tencent Cloud Computing (Tencent Cloud) to perform the requested effect.
5.1 What Is Sent
- The photo you selected (JPEG, encoded as Base64)
- For Aging: your chosen target age parameter
- For Hair Recolor: a request for portrait/hair segmentation only
We do not send your name, contact information, or account credentials with these requests.
5.2 Who Receives It
Aging is processed by Tencent Cloud through the ChangeAgePic API at ft.tencentcloudapi.com.
Cartoon Me is processed by Tencent Cloud through the FaceCartoonPic API at ft.tencentcloudapi.com.
Hair Recolor is processed by Tencent Cloud through the SegmentCustomizedPortraitPic API at bda.tencentcloudapi.com.
Tencent Cloud is an independent third-party service provider. Its processing of your data is also governed by Tencent Cloud's privacy and data processing terms. We require that third-party AI providers apply protections appropriate to the sensitivity of user photos.
5.3 What Is Not Sent to Other AI Providers
Your photos are not sent to OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, or any other AI provider. Filters are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded.
6. Other Third-Party Services
In addition to Tencent Cloud, the App integrates the following services:
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for displaying ads. It may collect device and ad identifiers and ad interaction data.
Meta (Facebook) SDK for ad measurement and attribution. It may collect device and ad identifiers and app events.
Apple App Store and StoreKit for subscriptions and purchases. Apple provides purchase and subscription status.
Our analytics backend for app configuration and usage analytics. It receives device ID and usage events, but not photos.
Each third party processes data under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review:

7. In-App Permission Before Sharing
Before any photo is sent to Tencent Cloud, the App displays a clear in-app alert that explains:
1. What will be sent (the photo you selected, which may include a face)
2. Who will receive it (Tencent Cloud)
3. Why it is sent (to generate your requested effect)
If you tap Don't Allow, the photo is not uploaded and the cloud AI feature will not run. You may still use on-device features such as Filters.
This in-app consent is required in addition to this Privacy Policy.
8. Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion
8.1 On Your Device
After a successful generation, the original photo and result image may be saved locally in the App's sandbox storage so you can view them again in History.
Filters are processed entirely on-device and are not uploaded.
History images remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
8.2 On Our Servers
We do not operate a server-side photo library. We do not permanently store the photos you upload for AI processing on AgeMe servers.
Our analytics backend stores device and usage data described in Section 2.2 for as long as needed to operate and improve the App, or as required by law.
8.3 On Tencent Cloud Servers
Tencent Cloud processes your photo to fulfill the API request and return the result image. Based on Tencent Cloud's standard data processing practices for face and image transformation services, uploaded photos are processed to complete the request and are not retained by us for long-term storage on Tencent Cloud. Processing typically occurs in Tencent Cloud regions including ap-shanghai (Face Transformation) and ap-guangzhou (Portrait Segmentation).
8.4 Deletion
You can delete on-device History by clearing History in the App or uninstalling the App.
We do not keep uploaded photos on our servers after the request completes.
For analytics data we hold, you may contact us as described in Section 14.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information, including HTTPS encryption for all photo transmissions to Tencent Cloud, secure local storage within the iOS app sandbox, and access controls on our backend systems.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Know what data we collect and how we use it (this Policy)
- Decline cloud processing by tapping Don't Allow on the in-app permission alert
- Delete local data by clearing History or uninstalling the App
- Control ad tracking through iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- Manage Photo Library access through iOS Settings > AgeMe > Photos
- Contact us to ask questions or request deletion of analytics data we hold
Because the App does not require an account, some rights such as account deletion do not apply. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored History images.
11. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including regions where Tencent Cloud, Google, Meta, and our service providers operate. By using the App and consenting to cloud AI processing, you understand that your photo may be transferred to and processed in those regions, subject to applicable data protection laws and the safeguards described in this Policy.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through a prominent in-app notice (such as a pop-up) before the updated policy takes effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision.
Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

What face data is collected?
